Easiest way to get involved is to attend the monthly meetings on the first Thursday of each month, from 5:30pm at the Greenbushes CRC.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 6 February 2026, as there are no meetings in December and January.

We usually welcome a representative from the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes to give us an update about projects in Greenbushes. We also receive an update from Talison Lithium.

This is a public meeting, no need to rsvp, just arrive before 5:30pm. All welcome!

Membership forms will be available if you would like to become a member of GROW Greenbushes Inc.

Representatives of Talison Lithium regularly present updates on Dust Noise and Blasting. Dust impact can now be followed online on the Talison’s website.

A friendly reminder: There are no meetings in December and January.

However, there is an informal meeting on 8 January at the Greenbushes Community Garden m from 5:30pm, to prepare the Australia Day Breakfsast event on 26 January 2026.

Embrace Volunteer opportunities around town

Lots of noft for profit community groups operate around town. Get involved in one of them.

Check with the local CRC what projects are happening in town that need volunteers.

Join the Eco-Discovery Centre, sign up with the Greenbushes Community Garden on a Thursday for their Busy Bee, join the Community Shed to learn new woodworking skills, come along to the next repair cafe and share your knowledge, join the CWA Greenbushes Belles and help raise funds for many local projects. There are so many options to get involved.

Repair Cafe in Greenbushes?!

The Greenbushes Community Garden wants to follow up on the very successful Repair Cafe project held by the Shire of Bridgetown Greenbushes, in conjunction with Transition Bridgetown, in 2025. The project was enabled by a Waste Authority Grant with one Repair Cafe session in Greenbushes on 12 July 2025 at the Greenbushes Town Hall.

Get in touch if you would like to become involved in making a repair cafe a regular event in Greenbushes. How about a Greenbushes Repair Hub? Best email the community garden greenbushescommunitygarden@gmail.com

What is a Repair Café?

A Repair Café is a community event where people bring their broken items for skilled volunteers to fix, helping to extend their lifespan and reduce waste.

What Can Be Repaired?

Based on the skills of our amazing volunteers, you can bring:

Clothing – Minor repairs such as fixing tears, holes, buttons, restitching, and darning. (Excludes zips and alterations.)
Small household items – Simple repairs or gluing for small furniture, toys, crockery, sculptures, shoes, and leather bags.
Repairs will typically take 15–20 minutes so we can assist as many people as possible. You’re welcome to bring multiple items, but we’ll work on one at a time before placing the next item in the queue. If it’s quiet, you may get several items repaired; if it’s busy, we may only have time for one.

Please ensure your items are small enough to carry easily.
We are unable to repair bicycles or low-voltage electrical items at this event due to a lack of available expertise. If you or someone you know has these skills, we’d love to have you volunteer for our next event in May! Volunteer forms will be available on the day.

What to Expect

Upon arrival, we’ll check in your items. While you wait, feel free to grab a cup of tea or coffee and a snack from the kitchen area.

When a repairer is ready, you’ll be invited to sit with them as they work on your item—this is a great chance to learn new skills and meet others! We won’t accept drop-off repairs; part of the experience is about connection.

Since this is our first event, it will be a bit of an experiment! We expect it to evolve over time and hope our community embraces it.

Is There a Cost?

The event is completely free thanks to funding from the Waste Authority and the Shire in partnership with Transition Bridgetown. We also deeply appreciate our volunteer repairers for donating their time.

💡 Donations for repair materials are welcome to help keep this initiative going!

How to prepare for attending a Repair Cafe

Take a look around your home for clothing and household items that fit within the repair categories listed above. If you’re unsure about an item, bring it along—we’ll see what we can do! If we can’t help this time, we can request additional skills for future events. You might alwo want to consider sharing your own skills and helping repair other people’s broken items.

We look forward to seeing you on Board.
