Greenbushes Acoustic
Greenbushes Acoustic has been hosting monthly music and bush poetry sessions in Greenbushes since 2020.
There will not be monthly events during autumn and winter of 2025. The next Campover is from 19 to 21 September 2025 at the Greenbushes Fre Camp Area. Save the date!
The group attracted between 20 and 75 people to each of their gatherings, in the park during summer and at a local hall during winter. The group also holds weekend camp-over that were offered free of charge with a focus on sharing, learning and community wellbeing. The group also supported local community events with music and poetry, especially the Greenbushes Community Garden and the local CWA Belles, the Community Mining Heritage Festival and the Pink Fun Run.
The Group also organised the second Greenbushes Art and Music Trail, a free event that provided entertainment and participation to local residents, including dance, ukulele jam, music jams, disco night and performances. The Trail brought the audience to various venues around town, including venues that are not usually open to the public, such as St Barnabas Church, CWA Clubrooms, Masonic Hall and the mine look-out. The majority of musicians and poets provided entertainment and workshops as volunteers. The event raised over $4,000 for the local community garden through sponsorships.
In the past year they have developed a website www.greenbushesacoustic.club, continued their good work as recognised mental health support group around music and bush poetry. https://connectgroups.org.au/directory/listing/greenbushes-acoustic
